Music, Worship & Art

James E Wallace

Welcome to my online space. It is here that I will share some thoughts about music, art and worship. I am fascinated by the role performance art plays in our discovery of God, revealed and how we in turn respond to Him. Perhaps it can stimulate some dialogue for you as well.

Both as a consultant and participant, I have worked with a number of church worship teams for over forty years. While my heart beats in time as a bass player, my heart’s cry is to see music and artistry developed in worship. Along with church work, much of my work experience has been in elementary education. With almost twenty-five years in a classroom, I have shared life with first, second and third graders. Nine year old students are great teachers of a child-like faith.

Having bounced around the US a bit, I lived in the Rocky Mountains of Montana for just over two decades. In the decade prior, I lived on the coast of Southern California. My wife, Donna has been my co-pilot for numerous cross-country trips. We meandered backroads-–camping in a VW Bus, moved with U-Hauls, and raced curvy roads in a little Audi TT and VW GTi. More recently we crossed the US in a forty foot motorhome tending to our parents. We have two amazing adult kids and are fortunate enough to still have moms present in our journey. To share life with our adult kids, we split our time between Bozeman, MT and Nashville, TN.
